New Features & Improvments – Pinterest, Quickbooks, SocialShop, New Views and More Integrations!

Published on February 28th, 2012 by Mitchell Harper

Every two weeks we release new features and improvements for your BigCommerce store. Here are some of the more exciting improvements that have rolled out recently or that will appear in your store over the coming week:

  • Built-in Pinterest integration so shoppers can quickly and easily “pin” photos of your products to a board on Pinterest. We have a great “how to” blog post on Pinterest going up in a few days, so keep an eye out for that.
    .
  • Quickbooks integration has been overhauled, providing a faster and more customizable integration, especially for stores with a large amount of products and options.
    .
  • Remove “Powered By” link in our Facebook application, SocialShop, from the settings page simply by ticking a checkbox.
    .
  • New “Views” tabs make it easier and faster to switch between views (saved searches) of your orders, products and customers.

Lost-O-New (And Useful!) Integrations

With the announcement of our new $2M integration fund for developers a few months back, there have been hundreds of amazing third party developers working night and day to build all sorts of fun and useful integrations for BigCommerce.

We’ve added a bunch of new integrations lately, including Spring Metrics for smart coupons, VersaFeed to distribute your product feeds, SumAll for e-commerce analytics, ReferralCandy to encourage customer referrals, Constant Contact for email marketing and many, many more.

If you’re a developer (specifically a mobile developer for iPhone or iPad) and would like to participate in our integration fund, make sure you go here to get all the details.

Your Story – Evoke Apparel Company

Published on February 1st, 2012 by Mitchell Harper

Our new “Your Story” blog posts are written by clients. In their own words, they talk about their e-commerce experience with BigCommerce. If you’d like to be featured here then fill in this short form.

Company: Evoke Apparel Company
BigCommerce Store: EvokeApparelCompany.com
Launch Date: June 2011
Founders: Shawn and Jannette Bendinelli
Vertical: Apparel

“…with every purchase of an Evoke Apparel product, we provide an opportunity for the customer to give an additional $1; Evoke will then match their gift with another $1 and donate $2 directly to the charity of the customers choice…”

Shawn Bendinelli of Evoke Apparel Company

In Shawn’s own words…

Evoke Apparel was founded in the summer of 2011 with a social mission to evoke change in the world through fun, inspiring and fashionable apparel; including t-shirts, hoodies, hats, beanies and kids apparel.

The idea for Evoke Apparel came to the founders (Shawn and Jannette Bendinelli) as they conceived The Happy Human. The Happy Human is a company where a social movement which encourages people to “BE” who they are, “DO” what they love and “GIVE” from their heart is at the core of its mission. It believes “Being, Doing and Giving” are what make us human and ignite our passion for life.

Evoke Apparel believes every person can make the world a better place, whether as an individual or as part of a business by Being, Doing and Giving. We also believe businesses can both make a profit and evoke change. Therefore, with every purchase of an Evoke Apparel product, we provide an opportunity for the customer to give an additional $1; Evoke will then match their gift with another $1 and donate $2 directly to the charity of the customers choice.

As artists ourselves, we also have a passion for supporting the arts. It was important for us to provide a showcase where artists could be profiled, their work displayed and enjoyed by the masses and where artists could be provided with residual income. Therefore, with every purchase of an Evoke Apparel product, we provide $1 to the artist who designed the artwork for the product.

E-commerce is at the heart of our business model and as such, we needed a scalable, flexible and reliable platform on which to build our brand. After much research, we landed on BigCommerce and have been extremely happy with our decision. The BigCommerce platform allows us to customize the site to look and function as we need it to based on our business needs. The many integrations are also a very convenient way to tap into social and third party applications that we use to grow our business.
