Overview: An overview of how the iPad is predicted to change ecommerce and how we’ll prepare you for the increase in mobile buying.

Description: In this, episode 4 of my podcast, I talk about Apple’s all mighty iPad. I’ve found some interesting statistics regarding the growth of mobile and I’ve put these into an ecommerce context, specifically discussing how they relate to the iPad. Basically if the iPad can become the iPod of mobile browsing then everyone wins – ecommerce merchants get more sales, social network sites get better engagement and more ad dollars and consumers adopt the “online anywhere” mentality which many of them already have.

I am excited to hear that you are developing specifically for iPad. I am opening a store with Big Commerce very soon and I plan to use my iPad quite a bit to manage my website and sales. With all the available tools these days it’s simple to get up and running selling any number of different products.

I think the iPad is a game changer. I know there are a lot of people complaining about it but people can either embrace technology or get left behind. I ordered my iPad the first day it was available even though I want the model that has wi/fi and 3G connectivity. For me, it is important to pre-empt my competition on all levels. I own a roofing company too and I plan to be the first if not the only roofer around that utilizes the iPad for my business.

I believe Apple has some big plans for the iPad. The next few generations of the iPad should offer some incredible features. It will be those who can optimize its features and potential that will find success.

    Thanks for your podcast!
