I work for a small predictive analytics company in Salt Lake City called diib. We’ve been doing some work in ecommerce, and we’ve found that video can really drive your conversion rate. Here are some other things that can make your ecommerce videos awesome:

(1) Offering social proof in the video (finding users of a product who can provide a testimonial).
(2) Demonstrate a product for customers or provide them with useful tips.
(3) Promote some of your industry partnerships–customers are always looking for expert-driven content.

In the video a lot depends if they are directly from the shop or taken. I have already had the A/B test, where videos decreased conversion because they had been taken or were very poor quality, therefore it always depends on the video itself and also on the product.
Unfortunately, video shoots is not easy, it takes a lot of time and it is necessary to measure the return on investment in the videos.
