A Note from Our New President, Travis Hess

Hello, I’m Travis Hess, the new President at BigCommerce. My teams are responsible for our regional and global sales, marketing, customer success, agency partnerships, and business operations. Our purpose is to deliver to you the world’s best enterprise platform for B2C, B2B, and composable commerce. I’m thrilled and honored to serve you!

By way of background, I’ve been in ecommerce for almost 20 years. Most recently, at Accenture, BVA, and The Stable, I ran the largest Shopify Plus agency in the world for the past five years that served some of their largest customers, including Kylie Cosmetics, Spanx, UNTUCKit, SKIMS, Tommy John, NOBULL, Netflix, and more. I was also a member of Shopify’s inaugural Advisory Board and have been deeply involved in their product and go-to-market strategy. Before that, I was the global CRO and GM for LiveArea/PFSWeb, the largest independent SFCC/Demandware agency in the world as well as a leading SAP/Hybris and Magento partner where we focused on enterprise ecommerce implementations globally.  

Commerce has been my career passion, and I’ve been selling, marketing, implementing, and scaling leading global brands on leading global platforms for two decades now. Most notably, I’ve been able to effectively recognize market capabilities and customer demands and build award winning agencies that are mapped specifically to the best-in-class commerce platforms to meet and exceed such demands at scale. From Oracle Commerce/ATG and IBM Websphere, to SAP/Hybris and SFCC/Demandware to Adobe/Magento and most recently Shopify — I’ve truly seen it all over the past two decades. 

Why am I staking my career and reputation on BigCommerce? Simply put, I believe it possesses the best commerce platform and strategic vision, both now and increasingly in the years ahead for where the market is going.
