Sherri Manning
Chief People Officer
Sherri is the Chief People Officer at BigCommerce. She brings a wealth of HR experience in her leadership role where she is responsible for the organizational development, employee acquisition, retention, compensation planning, benefits, administrative and facilities functions.
At BigCommerce, Sherri has strategic oversight of the HR, facilities and administrative functions within the company. Under her guidance, BigCommerce launched a number of new leadership and managerial development programs for employees. In addition, Sherri helped institute corporate diversity and equity practices across recruiting, HR and compensation teams, and drove the recruiting efforts that helped the company’s headcount nearly double in size across five offices.Â
During her tenure, BigCommerce opened new offices in the U.K. and Singapore, and was recognized multiple times as a best place to work across the Austin, San Francisco and Sydney offices.Â
Over the course of her 20-year career, Sherri has held key leadership roles at ECG Management Consultant, IBM, Q2ebanking and UniversalPegasus International. She has also served in HR and management roles at Colgate Palmolive and Dell, and has served as a legislative analyst for the Oklahoma Senate.Â
Sherri holds a BA in Political Science from Phillips University; JD from the University of Oklahoma College of Law and the Queens College, Oxford University; and a LLM in International Business Law from Georgetown University Law Center. She currently lives in Austin, Texas with her family.
