John Mackey, co-founder of Whole Foods Market, has built the natural and organic grocer from a single store in Austin, Texas in 1978, into a Fortune 500 company, which went public in 1992, and was purchased by Amazon in 2017. 

Today, Whole Foods Market is a top U.S. supermarket with more than 500 stores and 95,000 Team Members across the U.S., Canada and U.K.

Kate Ancketill — The Future of Retail in the Metaverse

As the CEO and founder of GDR, Kate Ancketill has accrued more than 21 years of experience in trends affecting business sectors and consumer behavior, sharing her visionary insights around the world.

Ancketill is a business futurist, adept at making complex societal shifts and emerging technologies relatable for any audience. She also advises on the future of customer experience, how marketing is evolving and how the best of the best are using tech to adapt to new customer behavior.

Ancketill’s keynote session, The Future of Retail in the Metaverse, is on September 13 and hosted by Senior Content Marketing Manager at BigCommerce, Pablo Gallaga. 

Seth Godin — Modern Marketing: Engaging Your Audience with Intention

Seth Godin is the author of 20 books that have been bestsellers around the world and have been translated into more than 35 languages. He’s also the founder of the altMBA and The Akimbo Workshops — online seminars that have transformed the work of thousands of people.

He writes about the post-industrial revolution, the way ideas spread, marketing, quitting, leadership and most of all, changing everything. You might be familiar with his books Linchpin, Tribes, The Dip and Purple Cow.

His book, This Is Marketing, was an instant bestseller around the world. The newest book, The Practice, came out at the end of 2020 and became another bestseller. Coming this year: The all-volunteer community project, The Carbon Almanac.

In addition to his writing and speaking, Godin has founded several companies, including Yoyodyne and Squidoo. His blog (which you can find by typing “Seth” into Google) is one of the most popular in the world. His podcast is in the top 1% of all podcasts worldwide.

In 2018, he was inducted into the Marketing Hall of Fame. More than 20,000 people have taken the powerful Akimbo workshops he founded, including thealtMBA and The Marketing Seminar.

Jenny Fleiss is an entrepreneur and intrapreneur, founding two scaled digitally native businesses from scratch: Rent the Runway and Jetblack. She is a Venture Partner at Volition Capital.

Jetblack was the first portfolio company within Walmart’s technology incubator, disrupting traditional ecommerce with a personal shopping service over text message and voice. 

Previously, Fleiss co-founded Rent the Runway, a business that has transformed the retail industry by making designer clothing rentals a convenient and accessible luxury experience for millions of women. 

During her time at Rent the Runway,  Fleiss wore many different hats, serving as President, Head of Logistics and Head of Business Development. She remains a Rent the Runway board member and adviser, is a board member of Shutterfly and Party City and serves as an adviser to and investor in various businesses, many with female founders. Fleiss is the co-founder of the RTR Foundation and a guest lecturer at various universities and professional forums.

Fleiss has been honored with numerous recognitions including Inc. Magazine’s “30 Under 30”; Fortune Magazine’s “40 Under 40” and “Most Powerful Women Entrepreneurs”; and Fast Company’s “Most Influential Women in Technology.”
