The TRUE Linkswear success story

Golfers can spend six hours on their feet and walk up to seven miles while playing a round of golf. The idea behind TRUE Linkswear was inspired by the desire to create a comfortable shoe for golfing that would also transition well as footwear for everyday life.

In 2009, the company introduced a revolutionary golf shoe that is simple, functional, and technical - built to tolerate the toughest weather, conditions and terrain.

Designed in Tacoma, Wash., and inspired by the Pacific Northwest lifestyle, the company’s first shoe has expanded into several lines and is available for shipping all over the world.

Finding a perfect platform fit

TRUE Linkswear originally launched on the Shopify platform. We were with Shopify for a number of years, but it began to feel like it wasn't offering the customization we needed.

We then transitioned to Magento for another three or four years. With Magento, we had difficulty with the lack of user-friendly features and the amount of coding needed to accomplish anything.

Frustrated, we were searching for a platform that was going to enable our staff to easily manage our online tools and update web content efficiently.

That's when we found BigCommerce. The platform seemed like the perfect blend of user-friendly features with the ability to customize our site exactly as we wanted.

While searching for a new ecommerce platform, we analyzed every option. We did our due diligence to research each of these platforms and spoke to people within each organization to truly learn the features and benefits of every platform.

We concluded that BigCommerce was more suitable for companies doing a higher volume in online sales. It was also an enterprise solution, which was a big influence in our decision.

The official turning point was when we had a serious issue with our Magento store and it suddenly was no longer operational. In a 24-hour period, we created a simple BigCommerce store and got our most important inventory plugins working.

Thankfully, we had already done extensive research in selecting BigCommerce because the first version of our site on BigCommerce needed to come together in one day!


Simplifying systems with Stencil theme

As we began the process of redesigning our site on the BigCommerce platform, we wanted a unique aesthetic feel on the front-end while simplifying our systems on the backend. We utilized the Stencil framework in order to achieve these goals. 

The ease of building our own custom theme from a template was beyond our expectations. Our coding team utilized BigCommerce’s offline Stencil theme editor tool so they could edit, code, and test the site in real time. Stencil offered the perfect checks and balances of having the freedom to deploy new features and designs with safeguards in place to protect the site.

Any changes we needed to make on the website images, banners or any visual element of our site were simple to modify and easy to navigate without having to bring in a third-party agency.

User-friendly management with analytics dashboard

BigCommerce’s Analytics dashboard is phenomenal. It’s very easy to use and navigate.

Being able to have all of our employees log into our dashboard and have immediate access to all of the tools they need to manage orders, inventory, and our site’s content is truly a huge advantage that BigCommerce offers.
